Hi! I’m Ali, lady-in-charge at Upstate Indie Weddings! Being a local wedding professional of a unique business helps keep me in touch with exactly what modern, engaged couples are looking for. We strive to showcase the most creative businesses in the UNY area, focusing on members that are 100% local, LGBT-friendly, offering unique products and services. Indie Weddings provides an intimate setting at our shows for couples to connect. Our directory and blog are updated weekly to give you the freshest, most current wedding inspiration in UNY! Find inspiration daily from our social feeds, and even submit your real wedding for a chance to be featured on our blog and channels!
In addition to seeing the need to connect more unique, independent businesses in my industry with the creative couples who were seeking something different, I also wanted to connect the talented professionals I knew and build a community. I was looking for something that I felt resonated with my business and lifestyle as a young, creative entrepreneur, but was struggling to find it at the time. Being able to make tight-knit relationships with other creatives has been one of the most rewarding aspects of this company!
We put our hearts and souls into everything that we do here at Indie Weddings, and sincerely hope that you can utilize our services to plan your most perfect happily ever after!
xoxo – Ali

Buffalo Indie Weddings was created in 2012 by Ali Eagen of Made by Anatomy and Erica Eichelkraut Zilbauer of City Lights Studio. They were two strangers who connected after they realized they both run unique bridal businesses (and each have an undying love all of things Buffalo, all things wedding and all things creative!) After seven years of celebrating with the best in Buffalo, Erica has made the tough decision to step away from Indie Weddings to focus on her photography career and her family. She looks forward to spending more time with her quickly-growing children, and watching Ali continue to rock the Upstate bridal scene!
