Beauty and The Beast Inspired Wedding Styled Shoot

This styled shoot was inspired by the new Beauty and the Beast film that was released March 17th. This live version has a moodier vibe and look to it, and so the stylist, Rebecca Duda of Quaint wanted to create a shoot that represented the essence of this. Quaint is a vintage rental & design company in the Western New York area. She wanted to showcase how vintage and specialty rental pieces can be styled to create a one-of-kind, and inviting celebration for guests. This shoot can give brides ideas of how to incorporate the Beauty and the Beast theme into their big day, without being too literal.

There are two scenes, one to represent the “castle” and another to represent the winter season in the movie, so an outdoor wooded area was chosen. The Roycroft Chapel is an intimate and historic site in East Aurora, NY that had the presence of a castle-like feel. To create a romantic and intimate ceremony scene, candles were placed all around the 9ft mantel and greenery on top to have it look more woodland and as if the greens have been growing at this space. Added details, such as the nesting tables and bar cart, with the vintage books, the beautiful cake, and candles, all contributed to the idea of Belle and her love of reading and sense of adventure. There had to be a lumiere throughout this shoot, so shots of this candelabra around the different locations, and with “Belle”, all help to bring the story to life. Instead of wearing a typical wedding gown, Belle wore a gold sequined dress to represent the gold/yellow dress in the film. Her custom-made vintage veil was specifically made for this shoot, and it paired perfectly with this particular dress! Throughout the scenes, a deep plum shawl and cardigan were worn to bring that down to earth style of Belle to this elegant look. “Beast”, wore a navy blue suit to also represent the blue suit in the movie, but instead of a royal blue, we went with a darker shade to better pair with the darker vibe. Berry tones were used throughout to bring a rich and different look to this theme. The second scene was in a wooded area at a private residence. This little nook created quite a magical scene! The 8ft farm table was used, along with our vintage chairs and chandeliers, to represent the dining scene in the movie. The lit chandeliers outdoors in the woods, allowed for that romantic look/feel to be present in the cold weather conditions. Bunches of greens and florals on the table, along with the fur, made this a more seasonal look, and the goal was to have it be imperfect, as if it was thrown together. Our secretary desk held the goblets for drinks, and to show brides how these pieces could be used at their wedding. The “Be Our Guest” frame features hand calligraphy, and welcomes the guests to the space, and our invite suite beautifully coordinates with the overall theme and style of this particular shoot.
