This Bohemian luxe editorial wedding was unforgettable. With a recent rise in the popularity of boho-styled weddings, we were inspired to create inspiration for future Buffalo brides. Being designers with a bohemian style esthetic, it’s exciting to coordinate a shoot that communicated the effortless romanticism of this design scheme.
We met with Colleen, one of our brides from this past season, who’s also a photographer and fellow Indie Weddings member! After our meeting, we decided to collaborate! We were super excited to work with Colleen; we share a love for vintage, boho style, and were aiming for a moody, editorial feel. We started to dream up a design plan and everything fell into place.
At the center of our inspiration was a Buffalo favorite: Spring Lake Winery. The winery is owned and operated by extended family, so we’re familiar with the venue’s unique characteristics. We knew it would be the perfect opportunity to highlight the property’s beauty! A key component of boho weddings is a gorgeous venue in an outdoor setting. That being said, it’s important to show how couples can style their weddings utilizing the venue’s various natural elements and backdrops.
On the day of the shoot, the weather set the tone for the ultimate moody set. The sun peeked through the clouds just enough to allow for some major golden hour moments at sunset. With scenes of our vintage furniture and lush florals, our models complemented the set design beautifully. They really showed the softness and elegance of the decor.
Our bride took advantage of the sunset and posed with the gown from Lovely Bride Rochester, letting it flow as she twirled, as the dress glistened in the sun. Chemistry Neckties’ ties and pocket squares added the perfect touch of boho style to our groom model’s ensemble. Makeup artist Brianna Ronan and hairstylists Buffalo Braid Babes styled our bride model to perfection, with a soft, boho glam feel. The crystal crown that we made for our model added a hint of whimsy to our model’s look. The cake adorned in gold and florals by Lauren of Cake Effect was the perfect mix of modern and vintage, framed by our antique cake stand. Ashley of Ashwood Ink created the coolest stationery with sweet custom details for both the menus and wedding invitations.
From the staged shots of the decor and venue to the candid moments captured of the models, Colleen brought this shoot to life in a way we could have only dreamt of.
Getting to collaborate with these incredibly talented local vendors was an experience we’ll treasure, and we’re so excited to show couples in Western New York what they’re capable of creating.
